Travel Informed, Travel Safe

Are you getting ready to travel abroad this year?  Do you administer immunizations for people that do travel?  Do your homework when travelling abroad.  We are talking about more than just your final destination but where you will have to pass through to get there.

Keep this link at your fingertips: Current Travel Warnings

The link will take you to the US Department of State’s “Travel.State.Gov” site.  Did you know that there has been 31 Travel Warnings since August of 2012?  31 in 5 months!  These statements are more than just ‘Be careful when traveling to _____”  These Travel Warnings  are issued when long-term, protracted conditions that make a country dangerous or unstable lead the State Department to recommend that Americans avoid or consider the risk of travel to that country. A Travel Warning is also issued when the U.S. Government’s ability to assist American citizens is constrained due to the closure of an embassy or consulate or because of a drawdown of its staff.

Spiramid wants you, your family and your employees to be safe.  Travel smart, travel informed.

Spiramid wishes you a Healthy New Year!

We all know that it is flu season, we probably all know someone that has had the flu recently.  Did you get your flu shot?  Yes, there is a shortage out there of the vaccine, but here is a link from the CDC to find where you can get your shot.  Click HERE to go find your information.  Be sure to click the button in the lower right of their screen “Report and See Vaccine Shortages” for up to date user reports.

Even if you did get your flu shot there are several strains out there and always the annoying common cold so stay on top of your personal hygiene to keep from getting sick.  Remember to wash your hands!  Yes everyone says it, but did you know that the flu virus can stay active on a surface for 72 hours!!  So always take a minute and go wash your hands before you eat, and try to keep your hands away from your face.  Clean the area around you; don’t forget to use disinfecting products on phone receivers, doorknobs, light switches, and remote controls.

Spiramid wants you to stay healthy and come see us at the conferences this year!  We will be at AAOHN, AIHce, ASSE and the Fall AIHce.  Keep checking back for updates!
